    Actually just heard back from the Marketing Director at Peacocks, they are hoping to re-open Peacocks in Gateshead this Friday or Saturday!!!!

    Who are the unofficial possibilities? watching this development with interest and keen to see which high street chains come to Gateshead. There is also a rumour that Peacock’s are looking to re-open some of the closed stores after renegotiating with landlords for lower monthly rents!

    The more I see the more I like it. Let’s face it anything was an improvement, but it’s going to be a massive boost to Gateshead town centre and you only have to look at Sunderland to see what happens when you fight to push away Tesco, only to find nobody else will invest in their place.

    There is going to be a new supermarket (see Gateshead Council News) in Felling Square replacing the Co-op and other retail units.

    My concern is that the new town centre development will take trade away from smaller centres such as Felling.
