A good piece. I second Steve Hack’s opinion. I’m tired of walking down The High Street and only seeing charity shops and banks. If I see one more coffee shop I’ll explode! I wish we had a “Wellies” in our Street. The nearest we have is a poor, drab immitation of the slick Wellies look, long may it prosper. Remember, Internet shopping is great, right up to the point where you have to get the stuff delivered.

Hi Graham, really interesting article. I visited Wellworths as it was then a couple of years ago and it’s good to see that the store is still doing well.

What a shame there aren’t more ‘sons of Woolies.’ My home town of Farnham could really do with a Woolies style store to help bring more people into the town centre. It’s not been the same since Woolies closed.
