Re ASCO, there was only ever one store, in Warrington, wasn’t there? I note that the website http://www.ascostores.co.uk/ is also suspended. Crains has coverage (from 24 May) of Asco’s winding up here, reporting that: “Asco Stores Ltd, which aimed to create a new chain of small supermarkets in the North West, has been wound up following pressure from creditors… Five companies owed a total of £53,620 joined a petition against the company at Liverpool District Registry last week.”

Both the Cupar and Forfar stores are to become branches of Alworths.

The Pound mart in Cupar and Forfar has closed very quicky and they have re opened in Dundee within the Wellgate centre. Pound Mart is based in Chichester, yet opens shops in Scotland ??. Their head office address is a PO BOX ?. Does anybody know anythig about this company

Claire Robertson’s Wellworths store in Dorchester, Dorset celebrated its 100,000th customer a few weeks ago, and Wee W in Stornoway is apparently to open in August.
